The Bazaar is a new multi-level, multi-sensory space debuting on Celebrity Xcel that brings authentic onshore experiences onboard. It invites guests to explore the sights, sounds, flavors, and traditions of their destinations along with the festivals they are known for without ever leaving the ship.

SEEKING: Performers of all ethnicities, gender identities, and union affiliations to portray male and female-identifying roles. Celebrity Cruises encourages gender diverse and color conscious casting. We are especially looking for performers who authentically reflect or hold deep understanding of either Caribbean or Mexican cultures regardless of race. Performers should be of 1st or 2nd generation Caribbean or Mexican heritage, if not of direct heritage, must have a strong sense and understanding of the roots, rhythms, and histories of these cultures.

BAZAAR VOCALISTS: Seeking powerhouse vocalists with great stamina. Must have either Caribbean or Mexican heritage. Vocalists to play Female-identified roles need a strong mix/belt to F5, and to C6 for some roles. Vocalists to play male-identified roles need bari- tenors to G4 and tenors up to B4 with strong falsetto extension for both. Must both be able to move well.

BAZAAR DANCERS:

Seeking fit, athletic, and technically trained dancers with a strong background in Latin and commercial. Salsa Merengue, Bachata, Soca, Samba abilities in addition to these styles are essential. Strong acting skills required for all roles. Singing and/or musical instrument skills would be advantageous. Experience in storytelling and willingness to hold narrative in an immersive space. Experience in stilts, puppetry, or physical theatre is welcomed.

·   Male-Identifying Dancers:

  • Heights between 5’8 - 6’1 are preferred but not required

  • Must have a strong physique and capable of executing adage lifts

  • Gymnastics, tricking, aerial training and stomp/percussion ability are a plus

·   Female-Identifying Dancers:

  • Heights between 5’4 - 5’8 are preferred but not required

  • Must have lean silhouettes and able to perform in 3" heels to include turns, leaps, floor drops & partnering

  • Gymnastics, tricking, aerial training are a plus

BAZAAR BAND Vocalists: Seeking powerhouse vocalists with great stamina. Repertoire to include 1950s – Today Pop, Rock, Blues, Latin, Caribbean, and Jazz. Vocalists to play Female-identified roles need a strong mix/belt to F5, and legit to C6 for some roles. Vocalists to play male-identified roles need bari-tenors to G4 and tenors up to B4 with strong falsetto extension for both.  Must be comfortable speaking/hosting on mic. Additional musical instrument experience a plus. MUST MOVE WELL. 

Solo Guitar Vocalists: Seeking dynamic and skilled guitar vocalists with a large repertoire and strong stage presence. Must have proficiency in acoustic and lead electric guitar. Repertoire to include 1950s – Today Pop, Rock, Blues, Latin, Caribbean, and Jazz. Additional instruments a plus. Regional instrument experience a plus. Must be comfortable speaking/hosting on mic. MUST MOVE WELL. 

Multi-Instrumentalists: (BASS GUITAR): Seeking dynamic and skilled bass guitarists who can sing with a large repertoire and strong stage presence. Must have proficiency in bass guitar and one of acoustic/lead electric guitar, piano, drums, or vocals. Repertoire to include 1950s – Today Pop, Rock, Blues, Latin, Caribbean, and Jazz. Regional instrument experience a plus. Must be comfortable speaking/hosting on mic. MUST MOVE WELL. 

Multi-Instrumentalists: (KEYBOARD/PIANO): Seeking dynamic and skilled keyboardists/pianists who can sing with a large repertoire and strong stage presence. Must have proficiency in keyboard/piano and one of acoustic/lead electric guitar, bass, drums, or vocals. Repertoire to include 1950s – Today Pop, Rock, Blues, Latin, Caribbean, and Jazz. Regional instrument experience a plus. Must be comfortable speaking/hosting on mic. MUST MOVE WELL. 

Multi-Instrumentalists: (DRUMS): Seeking dynamic and skilled drummers/percussionists with a large repertoire and strong stage presence. Must have proficiency in drums/percussion and one of acoustic/lead electric guitar, bass, keyboards/piano, or vocals. Repertoire to include 1950s – Today Pop, Rock, Blues, Latin, Caribbean, and Jazz. Regional instrument experience a plus. Must be comfortable speaking/hosting on mic. MUST MOVE WELL. 


WHAT TO BRING: Please bring a current headshot and CV (even if previously submitted).

BAZAAR VOCALISTS

Must come prepared with 2 contrasting songs of your choice

  • 1 song should feature Caribbean or Mexican heritage

  • An accompanist will be provided

    • Please bring sheet music in proper key if accompanist is needed

  • No Acapella singing

Vocalists may be invited to a movement recall. Please bring appropriate form-fitting dance attire.

  • Female-Identifying Vocalist bring 3" dance heels

  • Male-Identifying Vocalists bring character/jazz shoes

BAZAAR DANCERS

  • Please wear appropriate form-fitting dance attire

  • Samba, Soca, Calypso, Salsa, Bachata and Merengue dance skills are required, and if you have any specialty, Folklore, authentic styles from Mexico. Please be prepared to showcase and provide own music.

  • Male-identifying roles must execute all choreography in dance sneakers or jazz shoes

  • Female-identifying roles must execute all choreography confidently in 3” dance heels

BAZAAR MUSICIANS: 

Please come prepared with the 3 songs included in the link below plus two songs of your own choosing. One song should be a regional song from Mexico.
